Where shall we ride 7-7-7@7?

By mike | July 4, 2007

Hope everyone is having a great 4th of July.

The Michigander is ten days away today? Is everyone ready?

Let's do a long training ride Saturday. I have to be at a wedding in the afternoon so I'd like to start earlier than we have… around 7am.

Here's a video below that suggests some ride locations. Add your own. We'll decide by Friday and post here.

How about going down to Fort Wayne for a urban mountain bike ride? They start a 630 AM go about 30 miles around downtown then out to Belle Isle. Check out the website beatthetrain.com.

Urban ride down town sounds like it could be fun.

I have an early afternoon wedding that day so the Fort Wayne downtown ride won’t work for me this weekend.
I think I’m going to do Paint Creek Trail to the Clinton River Trail and then head west to see how far I can get on the new surface through Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills and hopefully over I-75 into Bloomfield.
I’ll start about 7:15am Saturday from my Oakland Township house and jump on the Paint Creek Trail eastbound from Adams Road. I’ll pass parking areas at Gunn, Gallagher (the meet spot for our first training ride in May), Silverbell, Dutton and Tienken - should anyone way to meet as I head east.
I’ll pass by the Rochester library around 7:45am and pick up for any in the parking lot for the short jog over to the Clinton River Trail.
Please post here if you plan on meeting up for the ride so I’ll know where to look for folks.
I’m particularly looking anyone who will be riding the Michigander July 15-20, and, of course, all our regulars, too.

I’m planning on joining this ride. I’ll probably catch up with you on Clinton River at Livernois if I don’t make it to the Rochester library on time. Just look for the tallest rider out there on a black Giant Sedona (and it is a GIANT Giant Sedona, 23″ frame), wearing a Michigan football helmet styled bike helmet.

Won’t be able to make it tomorrow, but sounds like a great ride.. Hopefully won’t be too hot out then either!

Sorry I missed you. I got to the Dutton Rd. trail crossing at 7:30 and headed north thinking that it would take you 20+ min. to ride the 4+ miles from your house. I got a good ride in. Hope you did too!
