The Life of a Trail

By mike | May 5, 2007

Was up early this morning and on Paint Creek Trail right after dawn. Had to wear long bike tights and a jacket with 43 degrees. I thought I’d be alone but found dozens of other bikers out early, too.

Gort to thinking how the trail has its own cycle of life. Serious and hard core bikers and cyclists early. By 9am, the young Moms meet, often walking three and four side by side, making it hard to pass. Kids and families add to traffic through dark. And every night, when we walk the trail with our dog, we usually see one or two bike riders who train by moonlight… and those bright little LED bike lights.

Anyway Paint Creek Trail is where we meet next Saturday May 12 at 8am for our first Clydesdale training ride. Meet in the parking lot of the old Paint Creek Cider Mill on Orion Road. Any other Michigan trails we should try for future weeks?
