The 1st “Train with Mike” ride

By mike | May 12, 2007

This morning was our first “Train with Mike Ride.” A bunch of us met up on Paint Creek Trail near Rochester and did an easy 15-miles. Meet the riders and hear their stories in the video below and plan to join us for the next one - 8 am, Saturday May 17 at Stony Creek Metro Park in Shelby Township, MI. Send along your suggested ride spots for future Saturday morning rides, too. Just post the suggestions in Comments below.

Macomb Orchard Trail is one of my favorites.. I’m really looking forward to them finishing it up.

Sorry I couldn’t make it up from Monroe County. A nice ride down this way is a trio of Huron-Clinton Metro Parks connected by a great blacktop trail system. Oakwoods Metropark, Willow Metropark and Lower Huron Metropark are all connected making a total run of about 30 miles depending on where you park. Plans are being developed to connect that trail system and several existing Greenways in Flat Rock, Brownstown and Rockwood ending at Lake Erie Metropark. That will open up another 20 miles or so. Would be a great group ride Mike, hint hint!

I like the sounds of that, Greg. We’ll do it! What’s a good meet place for everyone coming from the north?

And, Scott, we definitely will do the Macomb Orchard Trail… meeting in Rochester.

I’ll sked these two for June.
