Polly Ann Trail anyone?

By mike | June 20, 2007

I’m considering a long ride Saturday on the Polly Ann Trail. Last time I rode it a couple years ago, it was a disaster with huge rocks and a really bad surface. I hear it has crushed limestone now, but don’t know how much of it has such a surface and how long a ride we could get on it.

I’m thinking of 7:45 a.m. THIS coming Saturday, July 23.  Anybody know about this and whether we can get 20-25 miles on it?

Would love to, but I don’t think I can make it.. Definitely interested in hearing your report though on it!

    Hi,
I just rode Polly Ann Trail on 6/24/2007. If you start in Oxford it’s paved through town and then turns to really nice crushed limestone. You get more paving when you ride through Leonard and then it turns to limestone again for about a mile and then you get pretty rough two track. If you mountain bike a lot it’s no problem, but if your looking for a smooth ride like the crushed limestone or even paint creek this isn’t it. However, it really pretty and well worth the ride even in the rough spots.
Oh, I almost forgot….there is a lot of horse doo on a lot of the trail, it’s easy to avoid but watch where you’re going!!
