Cold mornings and… our next group training ride

By mike | May 17, 2007

Man, it’s been chilly the past couple of mornings. Temps have been in the low to mid-40’s and that’s just too chilly for bare legs and a thin jersey, even with a windbreaker. I confess I skipped today and opted to do a stationary bike inside instead of shiver my way through a 15-miler training ride outside.

Besides, I got to watch “Lost” on my iPod.

I’m heading down Lake Erie way tomorrow and will bring the bike. And next week I’m traveling the Lake Huron shoreline north and over the bridge into the Upper peninsula and Lake Superior’s shoreline. This is a continuation of the work project I’m doing for the Free Press but a great opportunity to bring my bike and get some new scenery.

Meanwhile, just a reminder that our next group training ride is set for 8am this Saturday, May 19, at the Stony Creek Metro Park in Shelby Township. We’ll do 20 miles. Meet in the parking lot of the boat launch. See you there.
