Let’s ride Polly Ann!

By mike | August 4, 2007

Just came back from a terrific ride on the Polly Ann Trail that runs from near Lake Orion some 14-plus miles into up past the village of Leonard, and then connects with a 20-mile section through Lapeer County.

It’s a mix of crushed asphalt much like the Paint Creek Trail, and a 6-mile section of asphalt, like the Clinton River and Macomb Orchard Trails.

There’s also a 900-foot-long iron bridge that takes trail users up and over M-24.

How about a ride Saturday Aug. 11 at 8 am? We’ll meet in the Orion Oaks Elementary School parking lot at 1255 Joslyn Road, across the street from the Orion Oaks Park and then make our way to Indianwood Road, then west to where the trail starts. We’ll ride the main route to Leonard and then back. In Oxford on the way back, we can stop for lunch and/or ice cream, as the group wants.
