Wow. Will you be riding that Sat. morn? How about the Ride For Hope? Pat

Hi Pat…
Yeah… Saturday… IF I can get some help re-assembling it. It arrives Thursday, says FedeEx, and I’m having trouble finding a local bike shop that will do it that day. It’s supposed to be pretty simple, said the guys who sold it to us in GA…. simple for people who are handy mechanically. But me? That’s another story. For sure Ride for Hope and Michigander.

Should be fairly straight foward. I assume its a matter of replacing the pedals, seat, wheels and handle bars. Pat

That’s it… you can bet that’s what I’ll be working on Thursday night…

So you’re doing the road route in the Michigander? I’m going to the LMB’s “Sunrise Adventure” event in Rogers City this weekend, leaving Thursday, or I’d get with you and give you a hand with the assembly. You might need some special tools such as a pedal wrench if you don’t have one.
I’d also recommend eventually taking it to the bike shop in Clarkston and paying to have a complete professional fitting done. A high-end bike like that deserves a proper setting up!

What shop in Clarkston? What really fried me is I stopped by Rochester Bike SHop in Rochester yesterday. Over the years, I’ve bought three bikes there. I stopped in and asked if I could bring it in Thursday and assemble it and they said yeah but no guarantee when it would be done. They made me feel very unwelcome because I didn’t buy it there. or maybe I’m just too impatient. But IU’d like to take it somewhere Thursday and really would like a good fitting….
And yeah, i am going to do the Michigander road route… also the DalMac and maybe the Tour da UP, too.

The shop in Clarkston is called “Kinetic” something (sorry - I’m on the road and no reference materials). It’s right on M-15 on the south side of the downtown area. Not a Trek dealer, but lots of experience and good mechanics.

By the way, let me know if you ever decide to do the Shoreline West tour. Bubba caters that event as well.

I went today to Fraser Bicycle, which supposedly has the most advanced lab and fitting center in the Midwest. I was impressed. They spent nearly three hours fitting me. Ready to ride now..
So far, for the rest of the year, I’m doing:
- Ride for Hope next week…
- The Michigander in July (will do the new road route they’ve added).. natch, staying with Bubba.
- The Tour ‘da UP in August
- And the DALMAC, on the last week of August

That is a sweet looking ride. Wives are the best!
